FAQ
Q: Is each card unique?
A: Short answer - Yes. While the same primary artwork will appear across a set, EVERY card will be unique in numerous ways. Each card has a wholly unique CardID number as well as its number within its tier shown prominently on the card face. The surface texture and background design pattern are subtly different on every card. Lastly, each card has a pair of small images that we call 'Sigils' that are randomly selected. See our Medium article HERE for more info on Sigils.
Q: How many cards will be made available? And how Often will new cards be added?
A: Take look at our Collection Arcitecture Medium article for detailed information. In short, at launch, we will release 780 cards across 6 standard sets. An additional set (generally 130 cards) will be added every few months.
Q: Where do I mint cards? Buy Packs?
A: You don't. Swamp Rods are only available on the open market. We mint the full sets directly into the collection at release and sell them through marketplaces like OpenSea.
Q: This project seems very politically charged, what are your politics, and should I worry about Swamp Rods making crazy political statements that will make things awkward?
A: Swamp Rods are for fun. We are not affiliated with any political group or party. We won't be posting commentary or positions on any issues. Our project assumes that the state of national politics is gross. That the Dread Swamp is populated with bureaucrats worthy of lampooning - on all sides of the political spectrum. Creating trading cards that reflect this will be the extent of our commentary.
Q: How do I stay up to date?
A: Swamp Rods on Twitter is the best place to follow/contact us. No official Discord planned - but if you pine for such, let us know. With sufficient haranguing - we'll probably make it happen.
Q: Anonymous huh? Don't you know you're supposed to dox yourself?
A: It's a legit question. Unfortunately, with how politically hypersensitive society has become - the potential to create strife with (especially large companies that are) professional clients outside of this project is just too much of a risk. This makes establishing credibility tough - and Swamp Rods less likely to take off overnight. We'll keep at it - developing the project, releasing cards, and hope you'll join us when you feel comfortable!
Who is doing this? (and why!?)
Swamp Rods are created by eww!Anon. Who's that?
Look carefully and you may see eww!Anon crouched in fetid corners of the DREAD SWAMP ! Observe closely for our secretive sigils! We watch! We wait! We.... actually we don't do any of those things. But we DO draw silly pictures of the foul beings that nest in our nation's capital.
Why? Trading cards are fun! National politics are fucked!
We aren't really excited by randomly generated avatars, super complicated airdrops, or any of that... but remember the feeling of collecting baseball cards (with stale gum in the pack!)? Remember those strange and gross cards like Garbage Pail Kids and Weird Wheels? Aw Yeah! That classic card collecting feel, creating awesome hot rod art, and casually flipping off the elite? Yep, you get it. Of COURSE we had to make SWAMP RODS.
We aren't going to try to prove it to you, but eww!Anon produces a lot of art professionally when he isn't snorkeling the Swamp. You may have seen some of it.
